What’s In It For Me?

When we started planning an organization for executive women, a lot of time went into trying to understand what support women in high-level corporate positions need to further their careers.  Research explained where women are, and where they are not yet and we read a lot about why that might be. Personal experience helped a lot and talking to many women about theirs did too.  It has always been of the utmost importance to make sure we are providing meaningful connections and valuable services, and those are areas where comprises won’t be made.

Synthesizing all the research we did, we came up with four strategic directives:

Developing skills. Building a network. Taking action. Creating change.

That sounds great, doesn’t it?  Both tangible and aspirational. But what does it mean for you when you join TQI?

To advance up the corporate ladder we all need to build our skills.  Our response:

  • Four meetings a year dedicated to learning, developing and honing  leadership skills.
  • An intimate and serious environment of peers sharing experiences and best practices.
  • Trusted  experts guiding these sessions.

Network building is very different for women than for men. Finding the time and energy to expand your professional sphere can be daunting. TQI is an amazing resource. Get to know our community. Offer connections and advice. Ask for recommendations. Our promise:

  • An instant network of your peers across multiple industries with diverse roles.
  • Our list of key contacts — experts who address our group, members of our advisory council, and independent and entrepreneurial women we bring into our circle who share their talents and passions at the twice a year social gatherings of TQI.

Which leads us to action. Creating opportunities for each other within the TQI community by opening doors and developing business together is critical for our collective success.  Our objective:

  • Present business opportunities for members and their contacts.
  • Understand your goals and make connections that help you advance.

And last, it’s about change. We have always operated on the principle that change starts with each one of us individually and that as each one of us advances, we need to make a conscious effort to take other women with us.  Our focus:

  • Provide you with information and tools to help you help other women.

But wait.  Please pardon me but I absolutely cannot resist the chance to use this phrase: That’s not all!  Available for you is:

  • A directory of trusted service providers for everything from healthcare to event planning.
  • A resource library containing pertinent information on topics that are important to professional women.

But wait!  That’s still not all!  Our members are active and ambitious and are always thinking about their next steps so we have partnered with organizations that will help you move toward your goals.  These organizations offer preferential pricing to our members, and we reciprocate with their clients and members because we know our missions and mindsets are similar and think these collaborations can lead to even more connections and opportunities for you. We’ll have some exciting news to report on that in the new year – for now, please take a look at Women in the Boardroom if you haven’t already.

  • Women in the Boardroom – Sheila Ronning focuses on helping you plan and prepare to take a seat on a corporate board whether public, private or not for profit.
