Quorum’s Experience in Aspen
September 18, 2016
You can probably imagine how great it was to escape the summer heat by spending a long weekend in Aspen, but what was truly mind-blowing was the opportunity to spend time with a group of very smart, committed, and dynamic people, talking about some of the big issues we face as leaders and as a society as part of the Aspen Institute Socrates Program. I couldn’t get enough of hearing about everyone’s experience and their thoughts on leadership and the good society and wish the discussion could have gone on forever. And I met some great people, including some women who I hope you will all be able to meet at our next events.
Here’s what Liz Groo had to say about the experience:
Attending the Aspen Institute’s Socrates Summer Program was an extremely rewarding experience, both personally and professionally and I am extremely grateful to Meg Sullivan for the introduction and guidance on getting involved. I participated in the seminar on “Artificial Intelligence, Business, and the Future of Work,” which explored some of the key issues around the opportunities and risks associated with further development of AI. In addition to an intense focus on the topic with a skilled moderator and expert in the field, I enjoyed engaging with an incredible group of accomplished and diverse leaders in their respective fields during the ample social and networking opportunities, including hikes and live outdoor music. It was also great to have been able to share the experience with and get to know several other Quorum members!
