The Quorum Initiative recognizes that local and national communities are faced with opportunities to take action on the issues we care about every day. We are providing our members and community with a list of a few resources to make getting involved connecting to take action easier. Join us each week and let us know in the comments of any local and national organizations that you think are doing a great job.
Resistbot, created by startup entrepreneur Eric Reis, is encouraging users to turn text messages into daily letters to Congress. The movement was launched as protesters sought a peaceful and creative way to advocate for affordable healthcare. Join Resistbot and text resist to 50409 to get started!
Democrats are Bad at Midterm Turnout. That Seems Ready to Change, For people who have been following the ten actions proposed by the Women’s March, one of the next actions is to make sure you’re ready to vote. Volunteer for voter registration efforts to improve typically low voter turnout in off-year contests!
#WomenforSyria organized by the women behind the Women’s March, join in vigils on April 13th, educational events, or donate to help those affected by the conflict in Syria. Over 500,000 Syrians have been killed in the last 6 years, and 6 million have been displaced both inside Syria and abroad. Lend your voice to the outcry demanding solutions.
