Wednesday, May 7th is Quorum Initiative’s event entitled, Share Your Ideas: Make Thought Leadership Part of Your Brand Arsenal. Develop your thought leadership platform to raise your profile and boost your personal brand. Meg VanWinkle, Director of Research and Development for Strategy Consulting at Accenture and Jessica Kleiman, Executive Vice President, Communications at SANDOW, will kick off the conversation.
Jessica Kleiman
Jessica was named Executive Vice President, Communications of SANDOW (sandow.com), which builds smart businesses driven by innovation and design, in October 2012. In this newly created position, Kleiman oversees internal and corporate communications, as well as public relations, for the company and its brands in the luxury, design and beauty sectors. With offices throughout the world, SANDOW brands include Interior Design, Luxe Interiors + Design, NewBeauty and Worth magazines as well as iconic retailer Fred Segal, design consultancy Culture + Commerce and materials library Material ConneXion.
Previously, Kleiman served as Vice President, Public Relations for Hearst Magazines, a position she held since 2006. In her role, she was responsible for public relations for the magazine division of Hearst Corporation, which includes consumer and trade press efforts for 20 U.S. consumer magazine brands, including Cosmopolitan, ELLE, Esquire, Food Network Magazine, Harper’s Bazaar and O, The Oprah Magazine; as well as the company’s digital media, international, brand development, and integrated media initiatives. She joined Hearst in 2000 as Senior Manager of Public Relations and was promoted to Director in 2002 and Executive Director in 2005.
Kleiman co-authored the book, Be Your Own Best Publicist: How to Use PR Techniques to Get Noticed, Hired and Rewarded at Work (Career Press, January 2011), and has spoken about publicity and personal branding at universities, professional organizations, conferences and corporations all over the country. She is a regular blogger for Forbes.com’s Work in Progress section and serves on the board of New York Women in Communications (NYWICI) as VP-strategic planning.
In 2011, Kleiman was nominated as “Publicist of the Year” by PR News. She started her career as a freelance writer for various magazines and newspapers.
Meg Van Winkle
Meg Van Winkle is the Thought Leadership Lead for Accenture Strategy. She has been published on a range of innovation and management topics and has over 20 years of experience in consulting, investment banking and investment management.
She has extensive experience in thought leadership development, offering and asset development and management, research, financial analysis, business case development and value realization planning.
Meg holds a BA in English/Economics from Wellesley College and an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, where she graduated in the top 1% of her class. She is based in New York City.
